What a day.
Our January 2026 CPD event brought together healthcare professionals, partners, and friends of EZMed for a powerful mix of learning, networking, and good old-fashioned fun — and we’re still smiling about it.
A Fantastic Turnout
First things first: thank you to everyone who attended. The event was exceptionally well attended, and the energy in the room reflected exactly what we love about this community — engaged, curious professionals who are committed to continuous growth.
From the moment registration opened, it was clear this was going to be a special one.
CPD Session Spotlight: Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare
The day kicked off with an in-depth CPD-accredited talk by industry heavyweight Deon Bührs, focused on one of the most important shifts in modern healthcare: Artificial Intelligence.
Attendees were treated to a comprehensive exploration of:
- How AI is reshaping diagnostics and administrative workflows
- Practical applications in practice management
- Risk, compliance and ethical considerations
- Where automation can save time (without sacrificing care)
- What the future holds for AI in South African healthcare
The discussion was practical, grounded, and highly relevant — not abstract theory, but real-world application. There were thoughtful questions, robust discussion, and plenty of “lightbulb” moments.
It was clear: AI isn’t something coming “one day.” It’s here to stay and understanding it is becoming essential CPD for forward-thinking practitioners.
From CPD to Competition: Lawn Bowls Team Challenge
After a morning of brain power, it was time to swap lecture notes for lawn bowls.
Teams headed out for a friendly (but surprisingly competitive! ed.) lawn bowls session. What followed was laughter, strategy debates, wildly optimistic shots, and a few unexpected champions.
The team format made it the perfect networking environment. Conversations continued, connections strengthened, and new relationships were formed — all while trying to master the perfect roll.
There may have been some questionable technique… but there was no shortage of enthusiasm.
